SUMMARY:The New Calscape: A Hands-on Program
DESCRIPTION:Have you checked out the new Calscape ( http://Calscape )? This CNPS website is California’s most popular way to learn about our native plants. Here’s your chance to benefit from all it offers.\nGet Live Guidance\nOn Wednesday, September 25 at 7 p.m. in Auburn, bring your laptop, tablet or phone to our special hands-on program that will guide you through exploring and using the new Calscape. You’ll be guided step by step to:\nEasily and quickly find plants that fit your site and your goals\nSearch for plants by plant community\nCreate and use plant lists\nReserve plants for pickup at a nursery\nCheck out tips about gardening with native plants\nContribute feedback to Calscape\nAbout Calscape\nOn Calscape, people can search for the best native plants for their location, gardening needs, or preferences. A vibrant redesign now makes Calscape even more useful and inspiring—showcasing over 8,500 native plants and cultivars, free gardening designs and guidance, a garden planner tool, a native plant nursery directory, and native plant landscaping professionals.\nCalscape offers everyone a way to bring native plants into their lives, with helpful search features and an intuitive user experience. Calscape makes it easy for gardeners to create wildlife habitat, saving water and resources, and restoring California’s natural beauty and sense of place.\nOur Calscape Presenter\nOur presenter and guide, Chrissy Freeman, is a long-time active member of Redbud who has delivered several previous chapter programs. As a member of the Calscape Steering Community for the past year and a half, she is deeply familiar with this new Calscape.\nLocation\nThis program will be at Auburn Library, 350 Nevada St., Auburn, 95603.\nRegister in advance\nPlease register in advance ( https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dJa7kcBGODFJOStUdqI8c9uFDMCTbwcGJIOZSfRJqZ4/edit ), so we can have space for all attendees. If registration fills up, or if you can’t attend on that date and time, we’d love for you to join the waiting list ( https://chapters.cnps.org/redbud/2024/06/27/september-25-2024/#:~:text=to%20join%20the-,waiting%20list,-%2C%20so%20we%20can ), so we can gauge whether to offer this again in the future.\n
