Time

10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Event Description

Explore how different forest management alternatives in mixed conifer forests affect fuel characteristics and wildfire risk during this dynamic field workshop at Berkeley Forest’s Blodgett Forest Research Station on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This four mile walking treatment and research tour will explore various treatment alternatives and their effectiveness while identifying the impacts of treatment timing and maintenance. Implementation challenges and opportunities will be discussed, notably those involving permitting and funding pathways.

Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch and refillable water bottle. This tour will involve hiking about four miles on a well maintained trail with gentle slopes.

Space is very limited and they expect a waiting list. Register here.

If you have questions about this field workshop or form, please contact Fuels and Vegetation Management Training Coordinator Maurica Anderson Fitzgibbons at [email protected].
