Good morning!
The Alliance for Environmental Leadership is recruiting new Board members. Are we a good fit for you? Please see the attached Board recruitment packet. Are you a candidates for leadership on our dynamic AEL Board. Are you interested in supporting our ongoing efforts.
As you may have noticed through our social media outreach, the Alliance for Environmental Leadership continues to bring our community together to defend natural ecosystems, organize for civic engagement and advocate for smart growth that serves all community members and protects the environment that sustains us. We’re proud of our legacy of accomplishment including:
-
AEL has achieved the distinguished recognition as a Community-Based Design Center by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. As one of only eight approved design center nonprofits in California, architects in-training who volunteer with AEL can receive up to 320 hours of credit toward their licensure.
-
We produced and published the Citizen Initiated Smart Growth Plan, a comprehensive and real-world study for sustainable growth, developing “available” (affordable) housing and a jobs housing balance in our community. This involved facilitating collaboration among 16 organizations in Placer and Nevada Counties.
-
We maintain a publicly accessible digital library with resources for smart growth education and planning.
-
Our CEQA training programs and community education efforts motivate citizens to engage in the democratic process and speak-out for community development that is environmentally secure, accessible and livable.
-
We provide local community organizations with many different resources for staying connected. We maintain the Enviro Events Calendar, a comprehensive list of upcoming events across organizations. We have an Action Alert system, to inform people of when a group needs targeted help. We have created and maintain a directory of all nonprofits in Placer County and their programs.
