Event Description

Learn about how woodpeckers act affect both insects and secondary cavity nesting birds. Faith Hardin will discuss her research on the East Foundation in southern Texas, a working cattle ranch, focusing on her work with the Golden-fronted Woodpecker, a species found mainly in Central America and southern Texas.

Faith Hardin is a Wildlife and Fisheries Masters student at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on how species interact with each other, both in competition for resources and behavioral changes.

This talk will be ~40 minutes with additional time for questions & answers. Recommended for 10th grade and up.
